Subject: Ever felt hijacked by your own emotions?Hey Friend,A few days ago, I caught myself doing the thing I always tell others not to do.I was scrolling through comments on one of my posts.
Most were kind, but one wasn’t.
Just a single line, something careless.
And still, it stayed with me...
I noticed my chest tighten.
My mind started to spiral.
I wanted to defend myself.
Then, for once, I didn’t.
I paused. Took a breath…
And said quietly: “This is insecurity.”
That one sentence changed the whole moment.Because the truth is…
It’s never the emotion that holds us back.
It’s the reaction to it.
The emotion is just a signal, information.
But the reaction…
That’s where we lose our power.
Think about it:
How many days have been decided by one burst of self-doubt or frustration?
We let an emotion take the wheel...
And before we know it, the whole day’s gone sideways.Here’s the shift I’ve been practicing:
When an emotion hits, name it.
Label it like you’re noting the weather.“This is anxiety.”
“This is anger.”The moment you do, you create space.
You stop being the storm. You become the observer.That small pause. That’s emotional fitness.
And it changes everything.
Because from that pause, you can choose.• You can post the thing you’ve been overthinking.
• Go to the gym instead of scrolling.
• Say what you mean without overexplaining.You start living with clarity, not chaos.That’s the core of my new book, "How To Build Emotional Fitness".
